In conclusion I think that the politics system is now and finally fixed and an alternative that can stand very well against the family tree. But as soon the papirian party leader died, his successor (a skilled general I didn't want to assassinate) went to secession as his trait made his party hate me the most. I always prepared to take the Cornelians out, as they were the most unloyal to me.

This worked very well, but as I went up to higher imperium levels I had to use more and more political actions to keep them in the boat. To appease the Papiria I additionally had to not increase taxes, while the Junia just loved me as long as I won battles and settlements. To appease the Cornelia I had to watch out that I do not wage too many wars simultaneously and get them up the cursus honorum. The only thing I dislike is that I had to do various restarts to get party traits that are cool/not too easy to deal with.įor example I play as Rome (main campaign, not DLC) and find myself with: Keeping all these men together is a great challenge as is gets more difficult as time passes on. The political factions now have a profile with own interests and things they disapprove of, while the party leader also brings its own trait which influences the party. Immersion is drastically increased especially for republic and similar systems where family lineage isn't so important. Since it is directly linked to the new civil war mechanic and a secession is very easy to kick off, you might actually use the political actions now, which were absolutely irrelevant pre-patch. Gameplay because it affects your playstyle as it can't be ignored that easily anymore. The new politics system is an absolute improvement and adds many layers to gameplay and immersion. I watched the video and do not agree with their opinion about the new politics system. Personaly i like Attila more than Rome 2 but im happy to visit R2 again. I ´ve bought the DLC to support CA but didn´t play it yet. (They take the example of a marriage which is far better and atmospheric in Attila).Īnyway they think that this is a good DLC for people who want more content for Rome 2.

The critic here is specially about the immersion and that attila gives you more a feeling for controlling things with your Characters. They like the changes in the politics system but they think again that it is far away from the good old/new system with the family tree.

They also said that the price is a bit too high. They explained that it is most likely released for R2 because it has more sales than the Standalone Addon (which is normal ). They think the DLC should have been released for Attila because of the better Features like Siege Escalation, family tree etc. In this video you find a short Review about the DLC.įor all who dont speak german a short summary:
